From microwaves to stained mugs and carpets...
Cleaning our homes is a chore in itself. Keeping up with a daily routine, especially with our busy schedules, is almost always difficult to balance. But life feels that little less stressful and that tiny bit easier when you discover some clever cleaning hacks, right?
Did you know that lemon juice is your saviour when it comes to cleaning a microwave? And do you know the trick to removing that stubborn hot drink stain from your favourite mug? Find out with these tips below:
1. USE LEMON JUICE TO CLEAN YOUR MICROWAVE
To quickly clean your microwave, add lemon juice to a bowl of water, put it in the microwave and heat on full power for five minutes, wipe and remove food stains with ease.
2. BOIL AWAY BURNT ON FOOD WITH BAKING SODA
To remove burnt on food from a pan, fill it with water and two cups of vinegar and bring to the boil. Remove the pan from the heat; add two tablespoons of baking soda, scrub and watch the dirt disappear.
3. REMOVE HOT DRINK STAINS FROM MUGS
Tea and coffee stains in mugs can be hard to budge, but this nifty hack will make the stain glide away. Simply mix together water and bicarbonate of soda and wipe the mark away with a sponge.
4. REVIVE RING-MARKED DINING TABLES WITH AN IRON
Got a stubborn ring mark that just won't go away? Cover the mark with an old tea towel, and run an iron over the top on the coolest setting with the steam switched off – then watch the mark disappear.
5. REMOVE PAINT FROM YOUR CARPET WITH LAUNDRY DETERGENT
Got paint on your carpet while home decorating? Remove it by mixing 1 and a half teaspoons of vinegar, one and a half teaspoons of laundry detergent and two cups of water. Dip a sponge in the mixture and dab the paint away before rinsing with cold water.
